Au Revoir Maissi!

The Rotary Club of Mundaring recently bid farewell to our lovely exchange student, Maissi Heikkil, who is returning to her home in Finland.

Just before here departure Maissi was presented with a gift from the club by President David Brockway. The photographer is well aware that a  traditional photograph would include the presenter, but the expression on Maissi’s face as she opened her gift was too good to share with a hairy old Rotarian! The reason for Maissi’s expression is inset on the right. It is a beautiful “Tree of Life” pendant and will serve to remind her of her year in Australia,and of the friends she has made, for the rest of her life.

Maissi has been a wonderful addition to the life of the club. She has been an excellent ambassador for Finland and for her generation. We will miss her smiling face and cheerful presence.

In all sincerity we say, “Au Revoir” to a beautiful young lady.
